Honda is mainly known for it’s best-selling vehicles the Accord and the Civic but there’s a newer and younger Honda on the market that is being well received by critics due to its affordability, value and utility and that car is the 2010 Honda Fit. The exterior features a sporty hatchback design with is utilitarian yet still pleasing to the eye. Useful features include, extra storage space, great gas mileage, affordability and since it’s a Honda, dependability. The Fit comes in three trims; the base model Fit, the Fit Sport and the Fit Sport with navigation.
This automobile is powered by a 1.5 Liter engine with four cylinders and 117 horsepower. That’s enough to provide a fun and even sporty drive, especially when you use the manual transmission mode plus it offers excellent fuel economy. Gas mileage is at twenty eight mpg in the city and thirty five mpg on the freeway. Power receives a nice boost thanks to innovative i-VTEC technology.
Due to clever engineering, there is lots of space inside even though the car appears rather small in size. The Fit also has a “Magic Seat”, which is a back seat that can be folded in order to store even more cargo. Another striking thing about this vehicle is that it offers ten cup-holders. Every Fit is equipped with a telescoping and tilt steering wheel, a stereo system with four speakers, an AC cooling system and a system which changes the loudness of the music playing depending on wind and exterior noise. The Fit Sport trim level offers a USB jack for mp3 player compatibility, a 6-speaker stereo, a steering wheel covered in leather, 16” alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. You can also add in an optional Honda satellite linked navigation system with voice command.
The Fit has been loaded to the brim with safety features. Anti Lock Brakes are in place to to counteract the wheels from locking up and maintains control during sudden braking while the Active Head Restraints help to discourage whiplash incidents. The airbag system includes front, front-side and side curtain airbags. Vehicle Stability Assist, a feature which maintains control during understeer and oversteer situations, is available on the Sport version.
This car is suited for someone who prefers to drive a more compact sized vehicle that is great on gas yet still affordable. It’s made by Honda so you know that it’s dependable and most likely will endure for many years to come. Even though it’s small in size, the Fit does not sacrifice on cabin space due to clever engineering. Pricing starts at around the fifteen thousand dollar range for the 2010 Honda Fit.
